Basic series
Seminar 1
The first seminar in the series is to learn how to make records of the patient, how to process them. All records can be taken digital and the processing will be digital too. You will learn about growth and facial development and make tracings on your computer. Facial analysis and cephalometrics will be learned with the newest software available (freeware during the seminar). The model analysis and indirect bonding is also fully digital (the software is free and will be provided at the seminar). There will be a hands on training on a typodont.
Seminar 2
In this seminar all the knowledge and methods for non extraction treatments are presented for you. Biomechanics and wires are taught as well as the different types of wires from stainless steel to copper nitinol wires. The traditional wire systems and the newest protocols for frictionless mechanics, wire sequences and tie in techniques. Hands on training is provided for so you will learn directly at the seminar!
Seminar 3
Extraction Seminar: in this seminar the decisions on extraction are discussed like arch length, classification and facial profile. All possible extractions will be reviewed: most bicuspid and molar extractions but also multiple and unusual extraction cases. The biomechanics and anchorage in traditional and frictionless systems will be discussed.
Seminar 4
Early Treatment Seminar: in this seminar the treatment of young patients is discussed. When to start or is it better to wait? The mixed dentition analysis, serial extraction solution and anterior cross-bites treatment will be explained. Treatment with Utility arches will be practiced in class. The adjustment of the headgear and the use of sagitals and bionators will be learned. Open-bite treatment and habits is an important aspect of early treatment: treatment methods and myofunctional training is included in this seminar.
Seminar 5
Class III growth and development is discussed with treatment chances at young, adolescent and adult age. Impaction of upper canines is most common: treatment is thought: the setup, surgery and the retrieval treatment. Expansion is commonly needed as well in class II and class III cases after to avoid posterior cross-bite methods and stability is discussed. Finishing a case is the final stage in the orthodontic treatment even though it starts by bonding the bracket.
Seminar 6
This is the last off the Basic series. Retention of your case results is discussed. Long term success of your cases depends on your initial diagnosis, patient cooperation and also on your retention plan. An overview on your diagnosis skills especially the facial analysis as a basis for your success. Treatment alternatives and case presentation friction and frictionless are showed. An introduction off mini screw implants is included in this seminar.
After the Basic Series you will be excellent in case diagnosis. You have learned to work with the latest software and learned the latest concepts of orthodontics to day. Facial balance and light forced brings you the smile on your patients face.
